May is the time of the year when you want to start fresh. We freshen our wardrobes and freshen our hair styles for the coming summer months.
We clean our homes to make them feel and smell clean and fresh. We open all the windows to let in the fresh spring air and put fresh flowers on our table for a beautiful centerpiece.
So let’s not forget the fresh adjective when we’re in the kitchen cooking our favorite meals. Nothing adds more flavor and color to those meals than fresh, home-grown herbs.
There’s just something about going to your own herb garden and snipping just the amount of fresh basil, oregano, dill, parsley, cilantro, thyme or mint that you need for the delicious meal you’re about to prepare. You just gotta love those fresh herbs.
You don’t have a yard for an herb garden? Then put a couple of large pots on your front or back porch (which ever one gets the most sun) and plant some fresh herbs. What, you don’t have a porch either? Then find some small clay pots at your favorite nursery and put them on the window sill over your sink and amaze your friends with your green thumb and your fresh herbs.
